In recent years, the production of pharmaceutical intermediates in China has experienced significant fluctuations. From 2010 to 2012, the production of pharmaceutical intermediates continued to decline, while from 2012 to 2015, the production of chemical pharmaceutical intermediates in China increased from 512000 tons to 676400 tons.

From the production of major intermediate products in China in 2016, it can be seen that except for erythromycin thiocyanate, D-7ACA, ceftriaxone crude salt, levofloxacin salt, cefuroxime acid, and cefazolin acid, the production of other antibiotic intermediates decreased to varying degrees.
